So in like ten years, I'm going to get a dog. That dog is going to be a pug. I am definetly going to have a portrait of us done. It is going to be awesome.

I've been in love with these masks for almost two years now, so that's a pretty committed relationship.

Dum Dum Da Dum

A friend of mine recently dumpstered a perfectly good copy of Martha Stewart Weddings, which when combined with the upcoming nuptials of my cousin led us to talking about our very hypothetical weddings (as girls sometimes do). While my friend said she wished to be the center of attention and wearing a fabulous princess-esque ball gown, I shocked her by letting her know I was more in the market for a t-shirt and skirt combo and I most definetly do not wish to be the center of attention but more perhaps just someone hanging out with friends that all of her friends want to talk to her and about things she likes. A nice t-shirt and skirt. I intend to throw my dress money into a fantastic pair of shoes. This little scenario just shows that my mother is right when she says she imagines me to have some nontraditional off kilter wedding. In my mind, this off kilter wedding goes as follows: the witnesses are two panthers and an eagle, I wear my skirt , tee and fab heels combo, and we get married in a donut shop which conveniently is the location of the reception. Anyways, the actual point of this post is to show you all the non traditional engagement ring I would like to request in some far off distant time from some far off distant dude. From CatBird, one of my most favorite boutiques in all of Williamsburg, crafted by Digby and Iona. How cute is this ring? You can have your initials engraved! It reminds me of Robin Hood, the Disney version where Maid Marion points out the R.H. and M.M. carved into a tree in her backyard. That movie also featured a stellar engagement ring made from a twisted water lily and firefly (can someone make this happen?) In any case I think this ring is much more unique and special than anything that is found in a traditional jewelery store. Plus you don't have to say you got it at the mall. So keep an eye out for my invitation in the far away and distant future and I promise to keep the panthers on a leash.

In a Barbie World

I don't know why, but I keep stumbling on many various Barbie related news posts. I suppose Barbie is having a fashion moment after hosting S/S 2010 Fashion Week and turning 5o this year (If you are at all inclined please find the Christian Louboutin and Barbie Art book online, it is hilarious). Even more strange at this junction in my life is that I know a few people who are all about Barbie and collecting and making things for her. So in honor of those two bizarre coincidences I've decided to post this series of Barbie's turned into famous art works, seeing as I, too, am an artiste. Can I tell you a secret? While I'm no collector and don't wish to be, I do have a series of fashion sketches of Barbie in great vintage pieces hanging in my closet...

Peep Show

Since Easter is tomorrow, I thought I would post some either very cool Easter craft or some very weird (and possibly terrifying) Easter craft. Sadly, I am far too lazy. However, I did stumble upon something that I think will be both cool and weird for you, my dedicated readers. Apparently, every year the Washington Post hosts a Peep diorama contest, as in the mashmallow-y treats that come out of hiding around holidays and are fun to put in the microwave and make bigger. There were about 40 entries, with some people doing this every year. Possibly alarming? I have included the top winner, two finalists, and some other dioramas I found through google images! I hope these pics get you in the Easter spirit.

Generally, I don't drink tea, but if I did I would most certainly want some of fashion's biggest names and faces hanging out in my cup. Though, maybe not Lagerfeld, he's just a pinch to judging a.k.a. terrifying for my taste.

I Just Wanna be Your Teddy Bear

How cute! Gummy Bear Knuckles from ROMEing Panda! Alright, technically I think it's really just a three finger ring but, man, if I had a gang we would wear gummy bear knuckles to all our rumbles and dance off's! I totally had this idea first, years ago. Perhaps it was one or two years ago, and perhaps I have no idea how to make lucite jewelry, and perhaps even if I did I have no way of accessing that sort of equipment. Regardless, that's just how we roll on the streets.

p.s. I have included the theme song from the late 80's/ early 90's cartoon gummi bears. I think it is wildly appropriate.

Sole and (Seoul) Sisters (bad? good?)

I'm going to apologize in advance for the brevity of this post but I have been very, very busy as of late. One thing I really dislike about America(ns) is our penchant to tie race into everything as in " there was this annoying white girl talking about how she hates when people use race..." etc...However, I am going to do that very thing right now! How is that every Asian girl I see (trendy, hipster, business woman, etc...) have the cutest shoes. Unfortunately, I missed the opportunity to document the several pairs of adorable shoes I saw today. To make up for it, here are some pretty and interesting shoes to look at and go "oooo!"

My Little Cabin Fever

This whole week has been rainy and snowy and all around blah. While I'd like to stay in bed, under the covers, hibernating until spring, I can't. Instead, I've taken to searching around for inspiring things to get my spirits through until the sun returns.
