When I started this blog it was my goal to post every single day, which I have except once. Well, to be frank, it's hard for me to find relevant things to discuss here. I could daily borrow stories from other blogs or fashion news and post my take on them here but that doesn't really sit well with me. I may be a cop out but instead of try and come up with something half hearedly tonight, I will leave you with a link to a blog that I always find delightful and inspiring Color Me Katie

Just a Small Smackeral

This weekend my delightful friend Mary and I had brunch at a little gem in Manhattan called Alice's Tea Cup. Specializing in breakfast, lunch, brunch and cuteness, Alice's Tea Cup is a a treasure of a restaurant. Decorated with Alice in Wonderland in mind, the atmosphere is a sweet madcap mix of the magical and the sweet. Keyhole windows adorn the kitchen doors, quotes from the books are scrolled across the wall trim, oddities abound, and tables, chairs, and dining wares are mismatched just as you would suspect they would be at the Mad hatter's Tea Party. I tried the French toast on the suggestion from another review. It was so heavenly, I do believe there was a squeal involved on the first taste. Very much in the style of a bread pudding, the sweet concoction became richer and richer as I preceded into the ramekin's depths. By the end, I was completely stuffed and happy. Mary had the buttermilk scones with fruit preserves and cream which I tasted a piece of and they, too, were delicious. As you well may imagine, Alice's Tea Cup caters to a variety of people. There were families, to friends, to young girls birthday parties, to an adult aged party, to couples. While the delectable food is a danger in itself there is also a small gift shop at the front of the store that contains many charming tea sets and other curios that may be dangerous to the waiting guests. Speaking of waits, the wait was a bit crazy, we were given an initial estimate of about 2 hours. Luckily, I had an errand to do that cut down a large portion of that time. I'm certain that the wait took maybe an hour as other guests are prone to changing their mind after so much time. I must also say that the quality of the service and experience made the wait that much more worth it. I personally am looking forward to many return visits.
